Using Traditional Bamboo Blinds at Home

As our time changes, it is now harder to make decisions about family, love, school, friends and even the things which we buy for our home’s. It’s very hard to make decisions even with the simplest, little things nowadays. When it comes window treatments there are so many options to choose from. You have the traditional fabric curtains to wooden blinds, from fixtures that have valances or tie backs. A simple and elegant option for a style of window treatment is to use bamboo blinds. Traditional bamboo blinds give homes an ethic ambiance and charm to an interior space. They can make a space feel much more comfortable and cozy. Bamboo blinds have flair and grace that may look delicate, but are very durable. Even if you need outdoor bamboo blinds, those are available to use in outdoor settings.

Most people fall in love with bamboo blinds not just because they offer ample shade but also because they are environmentally friendly. Bamboo is a renewable resource that can be replenished very quickly. A wonderful advantage of using bamboo shades is that they give a clear view to the outside without revealing what goes on inside. They make wonderful window treatments for sliding glass doors because they can be rolled or pulled up easily and are completely out of the way when you want to use the doorway. Bamboo blinds are also easy to wash, unlike fabric curtains: all it takes is a damp cloth to wipe them off or a quick vacuum.

Bamboo blinds have numerous varieties and colors that will serve as an elegant and stylish way that will create a more chic, exotic and natural look to a room. As you can see in this picture, you don’t even need to add Waverly curtains or valances or any other type of window treatments with bamboo blinds – they look wonderful just on their own. There are two main types of bamboo blinds. The first one are Roman bamboo blinds that fold into layers when they are raised. The second type are roll up bamboo blinds which are the standard blinds that roll up when you pull on a cord. There are varying widths of bamboo that are used for making blinds.  Blinds made of very thin bamboo stalks are called matchstick bamboo blinds.  The blinds made with this type of bamboo are very flexible and tend not to block all of the light coming in.  Thicker bamboo slats will give the blinds more light-blocking (and therefore heat-blocking) capability.

Bamboo is stylish, versatile, eco-friendly and because of its durability, many interior designers use it as a home decorator item. One thing you should remember is that buying cheap bamboo blinds is not always the best idea.  They are not put together as well as ones that are more expensive and will not last as long.  Always buy the best quality blinds you can afford in order to get the maximum life from them. That said, even the most expensive bamboo blinds are usually less expensive than other forms of window coverings, so they really are a budget-friendly choice when it comes to covering the windows in a home.

Bamboo blinds are always a great choice for the windows in any home because they enhance the windows and beautify them, all the while helping all of us live in a healthy and environmentally sound world.
